Three Free Mags with New FN 509

A few months ago we announced the new handgun from FN USA, the FN 509. Since its introduction, it has gained quite a bit of popularity as the civilian issue version of FN’s entry to the U.S. Military’s XM17 Modular Handgun System competition. Sig Sauer’s P320 won the contract, but FN’s entry was pretty spectacular. The 509 has made some improvements since the MHS competition, and these changes have impressed many gun reviewers and writers. Now, FN America is offering a great deal for people who want to try one out themselves!

About the FN 509

We got to try out the FN 509 a few months ago and it was pretty fantastic. One of our Staff Gun Gurus, Drew Kane, took the polymer-framed 9mm out for a quick spin at the Defender Outdoors Shooting Center and wrote a quick review. You can read his thoughts on the 509 here.

The FN 509 is a polymer-framed, striker-fired 9mm handgun. It features a 17+1 round capacity, with a 10 round option for certain states. The gun weighs in at just under 27 ounces. The cold hammer forged barrel is 4″ and features a recessed target crown. Overall length is around 7.4″, height is 5.56″ from mag base to sights, and the width is a slim 1.35″. The double-action 509 comes standard with 3-Dot luminescent sights and had from and rear cocking serrations on the slide. There’s a 4-slot Picatinny rail underneath the barrel and guide rod, and the handgun features a loaded chamber indicator. The grip is aggressively textured (though not painfully so) and has interchangeable backstraps to accommodate most hand sizes.
From FN: “The FN 509 is built on the proven architecture of the FNS Compact, FN made changes internally and externally to meet the rigorous performance standards of the MHS requirements and further developed the platform into the FN 509 with the help from industry experts. Over the course of development, the platform has been tested extensively for reliability, ammunition compatibility and durability – totaling more than one million rounds.”

Free Mags with New FN 509

Purchasing a new FN 509 is already a pretty decent deal. You get a top-of-the-line name brand gun from FN, a soft case, two interchangeable backstraps, and two magazines for $549. That’s a good deal, even without the additional promotion. Here’s Tom Scott of FN America:

The FN 509 comes with two magazines, either in 10 or 17 rounds. This promotional offer will give our customers a total of five magazines, making it easier to participate in training courses that typically require five mags and ensuring that more time is spent shooting rather than loading mags on the range.

FN 509 Magazines are have an all-metal magazine with a bump-proof polymer base pad. FN magazines also features a proprietary coating compound that increase the durability of the magazine while also maintaining a slick, fast-reload surface. FN usually sells their 509 magazines for $49 a piece. (Defender Outdoors has polymer versions of both the 10-round and 17-round 509 magazines for sale at $44) Getting three additional magazines makes this promotion a $147 value.

Getting Your Free Mags

Getting you magazines is a pretty simple process, just like most of the current promotions going on. First, you’ll need to purchase a brand new FN 509. (Naturally, we suggest picking up a 509 from Defender Outdoors for $549, but any purchase of a new FN 509 is valid.) All purchases must be made between July 1st and August 31st of 2017. So, you only have two months to take advantage of the promotion.

To claim your magazines, go to FN’s promotional site here: FN Free Gear Promo. Click the “Claim Your Free Gear Button” at the bottom of the page and fill out your personal information, select which product you purchased, the purchase date, the serial of the firearm purchased, and then upload a copy of your sales receipt. Word of warning, FN will not accept a PO box for the shipping address, you’ll need to provide a real shipping address.

If you’d rather use snail mail to take advantage of the promotion, you’ll need to download and print out the redemption form. Fill out the redemption form and send it to FN along with a copy of your sales receipt. You can send the form and receipt to:

  1. I sure feel left out on ALL the new handguns and offers and prizes and raffles.
Because I live in California and any new gun takes the State of California years to approve, if ever.
Such gross overreach of Democratic government here. And always more on the way.
The likes of Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, and De Leon are just too much.
Definitely no end to gun grabbers legislation; get one, want more. Obsession.
