…if you live in Vermont. With the recent turn of events and passing of new gun-restricting legislation in Florida and Vermont following suit, Magpul Industries and the editors of RECOIL magazine joined forces to facilitate delivery and distribution of 30-round PMAG rifle magazines free of charge to Vermont citizens in an overnight operation nicknamed “Green Mountain Airlift.”

Operation Green Mountain Airlift

Vermont citizens who own high-capacity magazines prior to the new law taking effect are grandfathered in and allowed to keep them.

In an effort supporting law-abiding Vermont gun owners and the attack on their Second Amendment rights, Rob Curtis of RECOIL Magazine gave away 1,200 30-round PMAGs at the front steps of the Vermont Statehouse in Montpelier over the weekend. This action comes on the heels of Vermont’s legislature passing its new gun control law. According to reports, this bill bans

  • Standard capacity magazines
  • Sliding stocks
  • Purchase of firearms by individuals under age 21—the same individuals who may vote and join the military
  • Private sales of firearms

“We’re grateful to MAGPUL’s Duane Liptak for spearheading the overnight donation of 400 pounds of freedom to the Green Mountain State,” says Curtis. “His swift action means we will get the magazines here before Governor Phil Scott signs S.55 into law, trampling the rights of law-abiding Vermonters.”

Vermont, known as the Constitutional Carry state, will soon join the ranks of the gun-grabbing political scene. Currently, the Vermont legislature is finalizing passage of its a gun control bill raising the age for long gun purchases to 21, requiring mandatory background checks on nearly all non-commercial private firearm transfers, banning standard capacity rifle magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, and outlawing bump stock devices.
