[FORT WORTH, TX] — Defender Outddors announced today its involvement in the National Shooting Sports Month, partnering with the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). Created to encourage participation in our many shooting sports genres and emphasize firearms safety, this nationwide celebration will take place throughout the month of August.
“Defender Outdoors is very excited to be taking part in the first ever National Shooting Sports Month,” said Defender Outdoors President Will James, “We’ve always focused on making the joy of the shooting sports accessible to everyone, and we are lucky to have a partner like the NSSF to help us popularize our favorite pastime! Defender Outdoors Shooting Center will be having many different events this month, and we encourage shooters from all experience levels and walks of life to join us in Fort Worth this August!”
“Our first National Shooting Sports Month is set to be a tremendous success, thanks to hundreds of ranges and retailers across the country signing up to take part and getting the word out to their customers and communities,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Shooting Range Services. “We’re thrilled to have YOUR ORGANIZATION join in the celebration.”
Defender Outdoors and the Defender Outdoors Shooting Center in Fort Worth has multiple events planned for the month of August. Every Thursday morning at 6:45am, Defender Outdoors Shooting Center will be hosting its weekly faith-based event, “Men & Women of Caliber” and every Friday Defender will play host to the popular shooting event, Full Auto Friday. Special events include a “Try Before You Buy” event with Smith and Wesson on Saturday August 5th, “Bullets and Brews” — a guys’ night out at the range — on August 18th, and the sensational Ladies Shoot’n’Sip, an event focused on bringing like-minded women together to learn and enjoy shooting, followed by a wine tasting! Defender Outdoors will also be hosting the legendary pro-shooter Patrick Kelley on August 19th for meet and greet and shooting lessons.

ABOUT DEFENDER OUTDOORS
Defender Outdoors started business in Aubrey, Texas after realizing that there is customer service void in the shooting sports community—particularly to new and female shooters. In 2013, Defender Outdoors opened its doors with three missions: (1) to provide the best customer service, (2) to provide all of our customers with a friendly and informative environment, and (3) to do so at the lowest price possible. Since then, Defender Outdoors has expanded with North Texas’s largest, state-of-the-art indoor firearm shooting training center near downtown Fort Worth, and an online webstore, DefenderOutdoors.com. Defender Outdoors recently relocated their Aubrey location to a new retail showroom in Argyle, TX.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 13,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers.
